~ Throughout my life I've experienced arachnophobia, an irrational revulsion towards spiders…thus it took a certain resolve to focus the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II super telephoto lens on this Nephila sp. spider in its web…what sets these images apart is the depiction of the spider silk being produced by the pair of spinnerets on the underside of the spider's body…considering the relatively small scale of the spider and its spinnerets, it's noteworthy that the super telephoto lens was capable of resolving such fine details
