~ These three photos were all taken within a brief span…it was early evening and the rental boat was in the final stretch of the mangrove channel…these photos are noteworthy because they were technical challenges…the two Hirundo rustica images captured birds skimming along at a fast rate, where accurate focus is especially problematic…the seldom observed Ixobrychus sinensis, Yellow Bittern, fluttered up and flew away when we entered the channel where it was standing…accordingly there is extra satisfaction in presenting these images from the Zhangjiangkou Nature Reserve
