~ Both Anthony and I share a strong interest in observing and photographing winged insects. Therefore when he spotted this Danaus chrysippus, Plain Tiger or African Monarch, we pointed our respective telephoto lenses at it, hoping to obtain usable images despite the long grass obscuring the view. That it's a widespread species doesn't at all detract from my pleasure in observing and photographing such a conspicuous butterfly.
