~ As is customary, we were invited to a welcome dinner…in Full House restaurant in Urumqi (新疆乌鲁木齐), it was notable for the decidedly eastern China nature of the dishes…throughout my stay in Urumqi it was apparent that most features of local cuisine were studiously avoided…I was unable to do anymore than drink crysanthemum flower tea, owing to a week-long gastrointestinal infection
