~ One year ago I'd observed and photographed Merops nubicus, Carmine Bee-eater, at Lake Baringo, while riding in a small skiff... this time I spotted Merops nubicus on a snag...Anthony stopped the safari van for a few photos, then moved closer...the bee-eater was positioned with sunlit clouds behind it, thus the lighting in the photos was poor...nevertheless it was a welcome surprise that it was the final species we observed in Tsavo West National Park
