~ No safari is complete without a quality sighting of Scopus umbretta, Hamerkop. This bird was striding along past a rivulet draining puddles from the previous day's rain showers. It walked directly toward the safari vehicle such that maintaining focus was challenging. The rich chocolate brown plumage was especially pleasing in the early morning sunlight.
