~ My friend and guide, Anthony Gitau, deserves immense credit for spotting Pelomedusa subrufa, Helmeted Terrapin, in low light, stopping the van with sufficient time to make these images of its crossing...the low light of early evening increased the difficulty of photographing it, especially as it was rapidly swinging its legs to cross the rocky track
