~ After strolling through San Marco's Piazzetta taking photos, I briefly walked along the waterfront…gondolas were moored there, tied to stout wooden poles…their livery was a rich medium blue which bobbed up and down as waves passed under them…across the Canal San Giorgio Maggiore was frequently passed by water taxis and vaporettos
