~ In August, 2011 I was first introduced to Plegadis falcinellus, Glossy Ibis, 彩鹮, in Nairobi, Kenya by paleoanthropologist YANG Deming…as the rental boat rested by the egretry, I spotted a flock of five dark birds flying towards the egretry, then gliding lower…not realizing their identity, I liked their powerful flight in unison so tracked their flight, snapping the shutter as they flew…after returning home to Beijing, scrutinizing the photographs it was readily apparent that they were Plegadis falcinellus…a seldom observed species in China, this was a highlight of our multi-day Fujian photography expedition
