~ After sleeping from the Persian Gulf up over Pakistan and Afghanistan, I woke up over central Xinjiang Autonomous Region in far western China…these images show both snow on the peaks and the transition from mountains to desert…my former students are familiar with the example of “can it snow in China in August?”, concerning which this is the visual answer
