~ Enter the Jackal…we'd be entirely concentrated on the relatively near quartet of Ceratotherium simum, White Rhinoceros, when Anthony quietly pointed out the incongruous entry of a Canis mesomelas, Black-backed Jackal…it trotted by, as if on the wrong stage, seemingly at odds with the scene we reverently observed…yet it was as much as home in that setting as any other species
