~ From a distance this Elanus caeruleus, Black-shouldered Kite, stood out...despite its light plumage having almost no contrast with the overcast sky, it was unusual enough to be striking...Anthony kindly stopped, although we were returning for lunch...the intensity of its gaze is shown in these images
