~ Unlike in Samburu, where dik-dik are widespread and fairly confident, in southern Kenya around Masai Mara they tend to be more reticent, with good reason. This male Madoqua kirkii, Kirk's Dik-dik stood still when we stopped. Despite the diminished luminosity of early evening his rigid pose made possible a portrait at a slow shutter speed.
