~ Returning to the Nairobi Tented camp after darkness was a pleasant experience. A small fire was blazing, where Saruni joined me to discuss the sightings during the game drive, while I sipped a chilled glass of Chardonnay. I dined alone on hearty split pea soup, fish with vegetables and apple crumble, all of which was excellent. The decor in the dining tent was attractive including fleeces on the seats and a bat lamp. Afterward I joined the camp manager, Clemenza, in the lounge for tea. We discussed how best to promote the under-appreciated Nairobi Tented Camp. At that time she was the only lady employed as a camp manager in any of Porini's bush camps. Saruni mentioned that Zorillas were sighted from time to time at the Porini Amboseli Camp. Off to bed at 9:15 pm after a wonderful first day back in lovely Kenya.
