~ These two images were taken after I started cooking dinner, with the EF 14mm f/2.8L II ultra-wide prime lens mounted on the EOS 1D X camera…they're taken for my long-time Shandong, Wendeng (山东文登) photographer friend LIANG Wei (梁伟) who expressed an interest in wide angle photography…the camera was mounted on the Manfrotto monopod, as the slow shutter speed necessitated camera stabilization…the new 27-inch iMac, the map of China, the red Venetian flag and the three black Lowepro cases for the Zeiss lenses all were focal points…the pattern on the Indian wool blanket which KUANG Da sent from Lhasa also stood out…the 14mm f/2.8L II ultra-wide lens is a joy to use, as long as its carefully positioned so as to minimize distortion, which in this case meant moving the monopod around the room and adjusting the height several times
