~ I took Shanghai's subway to East Nanjing Road in a fruitless search for a specialty item…while there, I took these photos of the street scene…by limiting the photography to black & white, an entirely different atmosphere was captured…to my surprise I was repeatedly propositioned for indecent acts and illegal drugs…after this walk along East Nanjng Road, I joined my longtime friend QU Yifei for a pleasant conversation in a small coffeeshop near his workplace where we drank ‘Very Berry’ smoothies
