~ Few smaller ground-dwelling species are more readily identifiable than Vanellus senegallus, African Wattled Lapwing”. The distinctive facial wattles, bold colors, and yellow legs add brightness to a grey-plumaged species. This lapwing walked straight toward us in the track, unafraid of the vehicle's relatively larger scale.
