~ The announcement of “a bustard!” is welcome on any game drive. The final morning game drive's first sighting was a female Eupodotis gindiana, Buff-crested Bustard, stalking in tall grass behind a small bush. She took one mechanical step, then another, truly stalking in an exaggerated style, as bustards often do. her head remained tilted up at an angle, evidently aware of our presence, yet not so alarmed that she ran away. Bustards have such handsome plumage, which the camera lens likes!
