~ These four shots were taken by the EOS 1D X camera coupled with the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II super telephoto lens…they're a sample of images taken during a 10-day visit to Kenya, including a 7-day safari…all of the photos were taken handheld at very close range and no post-processing was done…the lions (Panthera leo) were in Maasai Mara Nature Reserve, the Red-and-yellow Barbet (Trachyphonus erythrocephalus) on a termite mound in Amboseli National Park, and the juvenile Shikra (Accipiter badius) beside a small pond in the grounds of the National Museum of Kenya in Nairobi
