~ Entering Turpan was remarkably similar to entering a comparably-sized agricultural town in California's Central Valley…the dry heat, the farm implement dealerships, the vineyards growing cheek by jowl with the town…these shots taken outside of the Muslim Taste Silk Road Restaurant (真味丝路餐厅) show the quiet, clean, uncrowded nature of Turpan…in many respects, the least typical small city I've visited anywhere in China
