~ For the arrival of 2015 this image of an arum flower is presented...the arum plant on my kitchen table was a sport growing with a potted fern which was bought and died, six and a half years ago...a few days ago a bloom spike arose while I was bedridden with a severe upper respiratory infection and acute sinusitis...the wholly unexpected Winter inflorescence is a welcome reminder of the persistence of life in the most precarious of circumstances...Happy New Year, 2015!
