~ This Aquila wahlbergi, Wahlberg's Eagle, was perched on a treetop, watching the flocks of queleas and whydahs below...the slight crest on its head and the squared tail feathers were pathognomonic indicators of it being Aquila wahlbergi...the primary purpose for the Zenfolio Gallery is to support those interested in recognizing and better appreciating nature, whether plants or animals, thus reasonably accurate species identification is a top priority...when I get it wrong, it's a relief to have a better-informed naturalist straighten out any misidentification I make
