~ This single image is the sole evidence that I observed Lonchura punctulata, or Scaly-Breasted Munia, or Spice Finch, in the Beijing Olympic Forest Park…it is not generally thought to live in Beijing…were these birds, an adult and a juvenile, escapees from a cage, or were they migrating southward, or are there members of this species quietly resident in Beijing?…another avian mystery
