~ This series shows the nature of the Grape Valley (葡萄沟) tourist area…grape vines have been trained over high arbors to create a walking area for visitors…vendors of such local crafts as ethnic musical instruments, textiles and white fox furs are present as is a small post office branch…the heavyhanded presence of political influence was unmistakable…this includes the sole portrait taken of me in Turpan
