~ After a productive week of wildlife photography in Kenya's Tsavo West National Park, Amboseli National Park and Meru National Park, the final visit was to Samburu National Reserve along the Ewaso Nyiro River...after checking into the Samburu Sopa Lodge, the initial afternoon game drive was intended to be little more than familiarization with current conditions...at sunset after observing riverside lions, a young Panthera pardus, leopard, 豹, was observed resting on an extended leafy branch in a moderately tall tree...despite the low light of early dusk behind a mountainous ridge, this handheld 6:38 pm image displays the alert intelligence of the most canny of predators
