~ My longest friend in China is Indy, 刘畅, who is also the only person who I use an English name with…we've known each other since September, 1999…now a New Zealand citizen, he very graciously invited me to dinner at Bleu Marine, where I've been a customer since 1999…the co-owner, Torben, plied us with homemade fruit brandies, including kiwifruit, ginger caramel, coffee and fig, throughout the meal…photography was an immense challenge, due to the very low light…these images were primarily shot at 1/5 second, handheld, with the Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 50mm f/2 ZE manual focus lens on the EOS 1D X camera…it was a highly memorable evening with much bonhomie
