~ World Photo Day 2014 on 19 August commemorates the 175th anniversary of photography…these eight images were made during the third of 4 safaris to Kenya…variously showing wildlife, birds and landscape in Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli National Parks and Reserves, they express my deep gratitude for the gifts of sight, camera ownership, overseas travel and life itself…Mr. Anthony Gitau was the indispensable guide throughout the safari whose keen awareness of Kenyan species made these photographs possible…I hope that all of my shutterbug friends might join me in taking a a few images on World Photo Day, wherever they may be…I'll be in Kenya on a 5th safari, observing and snapping the shutter at whatever happens to pass in front of the lens
