~ Meshak took the vehicle on a grassy track distant from other vehicles or the camp. The track itself was little more than twin grooves through tall grass, with no evidence of frequent use. A male Lissotis melanogaster, Black-bellied Bustard, stood in one such rut, its plumage in full display. It was the first time I'd ever observed a male Lissotis melanogaster presenting its feathered finery with such flamboyant style.
