~ When I leaned out of the Juxi restaurant window to spot birds in the drizzling rain, something prompted me to look straight down…on a jutting, plaster-coated post a female Orthetrum pruinosum neglectum, Common Red Skimmer, 霜白蜻蜓, was resting…she was at the focal distance limit for the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II super-telephoto lens, necessitating my backing up to have sufficient distance to focus…I told QIU Wenhui and QIU Chunhua, who also photographed her…these images demonstrate the macro capabilities of a super-telephoto lens
