~ We were taken to the Jiaohe Ruins, 交河故城, the former capital of the Jushi Kingdom (车师文化) of the Tocharians…in the far distance, past mountain ridges to the south, a lake was visible…once again, very few visitors…the midday Sun was hot and dry…these images were taken at the entry-point, which is at the base of the raised mesa on which the ruins are situated
