~ Early this evening my former student, HUANG Kun, arrived with a package sent by QIU Wenhui from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. It was a box purchased in Paris by a botanical researcher, Monsieur Uriel, for me. It's a Special Edition Montblanc Meisterstück Classique M nib “Les Splendeurs de Paris”. Platinum-plated, with a rhodium-plated 14K gold nib, it writes very smoothly. It celebrates my twenty years of employment in mainland China, as well as many happy memories of delightful stays in Paris.
