~ On a previous visit to Meru National Park we'd observed Gyrinidae sp., Whirligig Beetles, but had not photographed them. Anthony told me that when he was young, growing up in Nyeri County, children would capture Whirligig Beetles to watch them move about in their seemingly random patterns. While observing dragonflies and butterflies around a stream, these Gyrinidae sp. were photographed to show their stainless steel simplicity of form.
