This series shows the approach of a medium-sized Varanus salvator, 圆鼻巨蜥, Water Monitor, who walked up onto the board pathway…I remained standing letting it approach me, thus the closer images were taken after it walked fairly close to me…it's characteristic bluish forked tongue, used for tropotaxis by sampling airborne compounds on two sides, is visible in several photos
