~ For Meshak and Derek, my ongoing interest in every bird, no matter how small or moderate in plumage, was a new phenomenon. They joked a bit in good humor, soon getting into the spirit of a game drive which emphasized birds as much as mammals or reptiles. I heard this Calendulauda africanoides, Fawn-colored Lark, before spotting it in a dead tree.
