~ Heading out the apartment door to the supermarket, I spotted an unfamiliar dark shape on the window screen at the western end of the hall…it was Myotis bombinus, Far Eastern Myotis…a chair was brought out to get a better angle, with two lenses used to photograph the resting bat through the screen mesh…when it was nudged, its eyes opened and tiny teeth showed…it flew away in bright daylight with the characteristic finesse and verve of healthy bats
