~ After grading papers since 2 am, I walked to the kitchen to make cinnamon/honey tea to warm up…looking out the kitchen window I saw cloud scuff blowing in this morning's strong winds…after consideriung the options, it seemed that the EF 200mm f/2.8L II telephoto prime lens was the ideal length to capture the colors…the new EOS 1D X was steady in the wind, as I leaned out the window, shooting at 1/5 second, yet retaining my customary ISO 100…there are birds flying in the wind, faintly visible on the sides of this image, which appears both in the original version and the cropped post-processed version
