~ These two images of Ploceus bojeri, Palm Weaver, were taken near the Murera Gate of Meru National Park in central Kenya…after photographing a pair of leopards hunting in the national park during a morning game drive, Anthony Gitau of Bigmac Africa Safaris and I were returning to the Murera Springs Eco Lodge when this bird was spotted in bushes along the steep downward drive…we paused for a couple of minutes, during which the EOS 1D X and EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II super-telephoto lens provided these handheld, non-post-processed portraits
