~ To honor the inspired recent poetry and decades of friendship of Gavin Dillard, I visited and photographed Beijing's Taoist White Cloud Temple, 白云观...although in the final week of Winter, Spring's advent was shown through flower buds and warmer temperatures, despite it being a smoggy, overcast day...all images were handheld, manually focussed with the Zeiss Apo-Sonnar T* 135mm f/2 ZE on the EOS 1D X camera...the settings in every case were ISO 100, f/2 with shutter speeds varied in accordance with luminosity...the quiet, unhurried calm of White Cloud Temple underscored the dignity of the worshippers...the QIU (邱) Ancestral Hall, built for QIU Chuji, 丘处机, is one of the temple buildings, as is the White Cloud Temple Taoist Medical Practice, 白云观道医馆...the temple is reachable by walking southeast of Muxidi subway station, 木樨地站, on Line #1
