~ In honor of the 18th birthday of Thomas Meinzen of Eugene, Oregon, a scholar, long distance runner, composer, pianist, birder, naturalist and photographer, these images of bird species in three parts of Kenya are presented...they were photographed on 18, 19 and 20 August, 2014, handheld, with the EOS 1D X camera, the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II super telephoto lens and the Zeiss Apo-Sonnar T* 135mm f/2 ZE telephoto lens...the first three were photographed in the gardens of the National Museum of Kenya in Nairobi...the next three were taken at the Great Rift Valley Overlook...the final three were made in Maasai Mara National Reserve
